For today’s artwork featuring the “Four Corners” collection I reviewed here yesterday from Virtuous Polish I wanted to incorporate them with a weekly challenge I am a part of. This week’s challenge is “inspired by a cause that means something to you.” I recently stumbled across the Project Semicolon idea and felt very moved by the message. A direct quote from their page is “A semicolon is used when an author could’ve chosen to end their sentence, but chose not to. The author is you and the sentence is your life.” I wanted to illustrate this with a flowing rainbow moving past a semicolon, in the way that life can move past a life filled with depression and hurt. If you would like to see my YouTube tutorial it is available here.
To start with a laid down 2 coats of Zoya’s “Purity” then topcoated and allowed to dry. Next I made a semicolon on my pointer finger using a dotting tool and black acrylic paint. For a visual you may visit my YouTube tutorial! Now I laid down a dab of each color of the Virtuous Polish Four Corners collection (from left to right: North, East, West, South) then using my detail brush from virtuous polish I began to add a rainbow of color, keeping the blue in a nice flowy line and repeating with each color leaving no spaces in between. Continue the pattern down each finger, curling and making waves with both the top and bottom color being sure to leave white space. Next I went in with my detail brush once more and added some white stripes in acrylic to create some movement. This part is completely optional but I also adda few black acrylic dots around he outside to give it more of a watercolor/inkspot feel. Now you can either topcoat or leave matte, and here is the finished result!

So thats it for today, thank you so much for reading along and I’ll be back soon with more swatches from Gothic Gala Lacquer!
