Today I have swatches of 2 colors from the Blackheart Beauty polish line, available online and in store from Hot Topic! The bottles alone were enough to pull me in to trying this brand, and they run sales on them pretty frequently. I bought these when they had a “BOGO free” promo going. They are cruelty free and retail for $5.50.
I’ll start first with BH Splatter Pink Blue NP (really Blackheart, you couldn’t pick cute names??)
This is a hot pink Jelly filled with matte blue hex glitters in all shapes and some square glitters as well! Really pretty and squishy, it has a sherr formula that built up in 3 coats with no problems or fishing at all! I did have to dab a bit to get some of the larger glitters displaced. This polish reminds me a bit of Delush Polish’s Babe Watch so if you are #polishingwhilepoor like I am this may be a good dupe! Shown here with 3 coats and no topcoat:
Next up is Pink/Blue Glow Nail Polish, and if you can’t find this in stores hurry over to hottopic.com because the inventory is limited!
This is a super sheer blue jelly filled with glow in the dark pigment as well as matte hot pink glitters in hex, circle, and bar shapes as well as blue metallic square glitters. I was able to get this one almost opaque in 3 coats on it’s own but I much preferred the look of 3 coats over Zoya’s Robyn. It helps the pink glitters pop so much more vividly! I did also swatch this over both white and black and didn’t love the effect. This polish is also black light reactive per the hottopic website. I did get a pretty strong glow out of this that lasted a little over an hour.
So all in all I think that these are great little polishes, and I now have my first ever glow in the dark! I will be picking up more of these in the future and I’m curious to see what the quality of the cremes are like! Stay tuned for some nail art using these polishes soon, and thanks so much for reading along!
