Ipsy | September 2015

Hey guys! Today I have my unbagging (unboxing? I never know which it is lol!) of my September 2015 Ipsy bag! This month’s theme is “face fashion.” Lets start with the bag! September’s bag is a bronzey gold pleather like material that almost looks like suede! Super pretty and very Autumn appropriate, it has a matching liner and the standard zipper pull with the ipsy emblem.

The first thing I saw in my bag is this Ignite 4 ml polish from Formula X. These retail for $10.50 for a full size and is described as “a universally flattering shade delivered in a patented “No Compromise” formula for xtraordinary color, xceptional performance, and xtra long-lasting shine. Infused with ShineXcel™, a luminescent ingredient that enhances color and overall brilliance. Get polished and kindle a new flame with this hot and heavy hue.”

This polish for me had an amazing formula and was super close to being a 1 coater. It does have an almost jelly finish so I did go ahead and do a 2nd coat for full opacity. It also dried extremely glossy, both photos above are without topcoat! Super gorgeous, vampy red it is one of those shades that looks much darker indoors and turns a bright cheery cherry red in sunlight.

The next thing I see in my bag is this eyeshadow trio from Nyx. I believe this is an ipsy exclusive but a similar palette on the Nyx website retails for $6 and are on sale right now for $3! It is described as “This 3-color eye shadow palette gives you go-anywhere intensity day or night thanks to the highly pigmented formulations. Provides intense eye colors with a silky texture for seamless application for any eye look that you desire. It consists of 3 complementing eye shadows to wear together or alone.”

For me I didn’t find the colors super pigmented save for the darkest color, but they do make a beautiful smokey bronze eye that will be perfect for Fall! I used the lightest color for an all over wash of color on my lid and followed it with the mid toned color in my crease and towards the outer edge of my lid. I brought the brown color into my bottom lash line as well and then added some of the darkest color right into the outside of my lid and crease. Save 50% off eyeshadow primer and bases with coupon code “NYXBASESCVRD”

The next item in my bag kind of goes hand in hand with the eyeshadow palette, this is the Deluxe Infinity Shadow/Crease Duet Brush from Crown and retails for $17.50 and is on sale for $10.51 right now! This brush is described as “This dual-ended brush offers the best of both worlds. The shadow brush is perfect for applying eye shadow or contouring the eye, while the crease brush is designed to be used dry for defining the eye, or wet for precision concealing.”

The larger end is perfect for all over shadowing as well as blending, it is a very soft synthetic fiber brush. I liked the small end for bringing shadow down into the bottom lash line, it is a little stiffer and great for more precise application.

The next thing I received in my bag is this #MOTD Slide On Pencil For Eyes in the shade bronze from J.cat! These pencils retail for $2.49 and are described as “This eye-catching pencil has a soft & smooth formulation. It’s an eyeliner with an innovative staying power. A long-wearing, waterproof liner will keep your eyes inked and smudge free.”

I think the bronze color is absolutely beautiful, I love wearing colored eyeliners on the bottom waterline and in the corners for a little pop! This is the type of eye pencil that has to be sharpened as opposed to being rolled up and its not one that will easily smudge out. You can save 25% off your total purchase from J.cat by using coupon code “915ipsy”

The next thing I received is the Brighten Up Enzymatic Face Exfoliating cleanser from Vasanti. The trial size retails for $10.00 and is described as a “powerful exfoliating treatment that’s packed with the natural ingredients necessary to get a bright, sexy glow. The best part? One step and you’re done! You’ll see smoother, brighter skin as soon as you rinse.”

I really, really enjoyed this product! I like that it is vegan and paraben free, it has a creamy texture with a ton of tiny grit particles for exfoliating. It has a nice botanical scent and left my face nice and smooth. I didn’t want to really hardcore use this around my eye area so it left a little bit of eye makeup residue behind but did an amazing job of cleaning off my foundation and other face makeups. You can save 30% off your total Vasanti order by using coupon code “IPSY30”

So that concludes my ipsy unbagging for this month, I had a great bag and I absolutely love everything I got! I think any month I get polish is an awesome month lol!
