I cannot even begin to explain how excited I am that it is finally the first day of October! I have big plans to try to do a challenge every day this month to try to make the most of it so we will see. Today’s theme for #themedthursdayoct is pumpkins so I did this watermarble mani inspired by both NailsByCambria‘s artwork here and @apolishedcolleen so definitely check them out!

Zoya Purity and liquid latex

I began by laying down 1 coat of Zoya Purity and then covering the tip of my finger as well as my “half moon” area of each nail with liquid latex. I wanted to be able to peel off the liquid latex and leave a nice white ruffian line near the top!

Next I used Essie’s Chubby CheeksBrick Lane from Butter London, and 110 degrees from Pipedream polish and watermarble in my tiny teacup using room temperature bottled water. I didn’t have an exact pattern in mind so I began by making a sort of spider web using my rhinestone tool.

Which I then swirled into a circular pattern using my rhinestone tool. I then dipped a nail into the design at a 45 degree angle, gathered up the remaining polish, and gentle removed my nail. I then removed the liquid latex as quickly as I could before the polish dried. Once I had all of my “pumpkins” done on my nails I topcoated only the orange area with Chirality’s Ectoplasm which is a liner holographic topper (aka mistake fixer upper lol!)

Next I used some green and orange acrylic paint and a small detail brush and added in some more pumpkin details! I used the orange to outline the pumpkin shape and add in some rounded lines to give them a more realistic shape and I used the green paint  with a little bit of brown to make a stem, vines, and leafs. This is the finished result:

So that’s it for today, stay tuned all month long for more monster-iffic manis! What theme are you most looking forward to in October?
