Exotic Collection from L to R: Duku, Mamey, Makopa, Caimito, Feijoa

Hi guys! I am so beyond excited to be sharing the new Spring 2016 “Exotic” collection from Doctor Lacquer! This is a set of 5 neon pastel creams named after beautiful exotic fruits that are going to be great from now all the way into the Summer season. The formulas on these are a little bit on the thicker side but still manageable. These were sent to me for review and will be releasing March 26th at 12 EST.

First up is Duku. Duku is a gorgeous creamy neon yellow shade that is very reminiscent of the color of a banana laffy taffy to me. I kept expecting it to smell like candy lol! The first 2 coats were a little bit streaky for me but the 3rd brings this completely opaque. This one didn’t seem to want to self level for me but a good topcoat (I used Zoya’s Armor) smoothed everything out and protects the finished look.

Next up is the salmon of the collection named Mamey. Mamey had much the same formula as Duku and was also completely opaque at 3 coats. This is such a bright neon shade! When I compared it against the original China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy Mamey leans more to the pink side.

Makopa at 2 coats with topcoat under artificial lighting.

Next up is Makopa. Makopa is a bright bubblegum pink with a  2 coat formula. This is such a bright girly pink! I’m sure this is going to be a summer staple for the majority of my Summer pedicures!.

Caimito at 2 coats plus topcoat under artificial lighting

Next up is Caimito, a bright soft lavender. I almost feel like it has a touch of pink in it, this is such a flattering shade! This one also had to easiest formula for me and was completely opaque in 2 easy coats.

Feijoa at 2 coats plus topcoat under artificial lighting

Feijoa is super bright green and was an instant favorite for me! When I compared this to Honeydew by Fresh Paints this had much more green in it. This was an easy two coater for me with the first coat being the 3 stroke method and the second being a little bit thicker of a coat. I do always swatch with a basecoat but I had absolutely no staining from this polish and I also had no chips or tip wear after 3 days.
