Hi guys! Today I have the unboxing of my March 2016 Birchbox! I had a really hard time this month choosing whether this or my Ipsy was my favorite subscription this month, keep reading until the end to see which won out!

tre’Stique eyeshadow crayon in the shade Aspen Pine

First up is a tre’Stique eyeshadow crayon (retails for $26 in full size) in the shade “Aspen Pine.” It is described as “a smooth, crease-free look every time, whether you’re applying a sheer wash of color or going for a dramatic smoky eye. Best of all, the creamy formula stays put for 12 hours, no afternoon touchups required.” The tre’Stique items I’ve received in the past have been so so for me, this shade is a real winner! It goes on super smooth and creamy and blends out like a dream, I also enjoy that it’s something beyond the usual nude/black/red color that subscription boxes typical send out. In the mini size it does not come with a smudger but it does give you quite a bit of product.

theBalm Stainiac in the shade Beauty Queen

Next up is this Stainiac lip and cheek tint in the shade Beauty Queen from theBalm (retails at $17 for full size.) It is described as a ” two-in-one lip and cheek stain gives us a natural, understated flush and helps us get out the door faster. The gel formula looks dark in the tube but delivers a sheer tint. The tinted gel leaves a lasting stain on lips and cheeks. Since it’s water-based, it has a longer setting time than most quick-dry stains, which means it won’t leave any unsightly streaks behind as long as you take care to blend well. Use a single coat for a subtle look or layer it on for a more visible (yet still discreet) hue.” This does give a really light but build-able tint, I think it’s going to be great for the Summer for a nice hint of dewy color!

Wilma Schumann Collagen Eye Pads

Next in my box I recieved these Wilma Schumann Hydrating Collagen Eye Pads. These retail for $18 for a set of 5 pairs. They are described as a way to ” plump and restore the youthful appearance around your eyes and enhance eye contour naturally without any scary needles. These easy-to-use beauty wonders repair sensitive skin around your eyes after time in the sun, and help brighten eyes if you no longer want to hide them behind sunnies.” I was a little bit skeptical of these. When I pulled the tray out of the foil packet there was a lot of excess liquid which I shamelessly applied to other fine lines (hello forehead!) The eye pads feel a lot like a thin silicone and slipped a little bit when applied to my under eye area but stayed nice and cool for quite a while. These are for 1 time use and left my under eye area soft and hydrated, these are definitely on my purchase list!

Next in my box I received a sample size of Hot Sauce, a thermal activated leave in treatment from FHI. A full size retails for $16 and is described as being “free of silicones and doesn’t simply coat each strand—it deeply penetrates into individual follicles to moisturize, condition, and strengthen from the inside out. Infused with jojoba crystals, it detangles hair for easy styling, defends against environmental pollutants and thermal damage, and enhances hair’s shine for a smooth look (whether you rock a blowout or go curly).” This does have a nice thick creamy texture complete with small beads of some sort of blueish goo. I thought at first it was like the plastic beads in some exfoliating toothpastes that are incredible ecologically harmful but these squish down upon infliction of pressure or heat. I don’t heat treat my hair very often but I am looking forward to testing this out more!

Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo

Lastly I have a travel size of the Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo! This retails for $26 in a full size and is described as a “weightless spray absorbs excess oil and dirt, leaving locks clean and deodorized as well as lighter and softer.” This packaging is beyond adorable and it’s the perfect size to throw in a purse and just go. It does have a powerful spray with a nice light scent and I had no problems with the nozzle clogging.

So that rounds out my unboxing of my Birchbox for the month of March! If you are interested in snagging up your own subscription you may use my sign up link here to pay $10 a month and receive a super cute box with 5 samples! I had really awesome items in both my Birchbox and Ipsy but this month Ipsy definitely kicked butt, it just doesn’t get much better than a full size NYX liquid lipstick. Tune in for April and I’ll have another unboxing hopefully sooner in the month!
