Hey guys! Today I finally have a swatch and review of the original Something collection from MDJ Creations! I did purchase most of these with the exception of Something Prophetic which was sent to me for review. I will be swatching them on their own, sponged, as a topper, as well as how they look matte.

First up is Something Aquatic. Something Aquatic is described as “multichromatic / color shifting flakie top coat featuring flakes that shift to electric blues and purples, to amber, teal, turquoise, & rich green tones.” True to it’s name, this polish has a gorgeous mermaidy shift! At 3 coats it wasn’t quite opaque for me but it did perform beautifully when sponged on or used as a topper. The formula is impeccable though, the flakies disperse without any manipulation and didn’t get gummy on me at all!

Next up is Something Majestic. Something Majestic is described as ” a multichromatic / color shifting flakie top coat featuring flakes that shift to purple, violet, magenta, amber, gold, chartreuse, teal, green & blue.” This one is a favorite for me, the shift of the spectrum is very noticeable and defined even on the nail! At 3 coats it is bordering on full opacity but just wasn’t quite there, it does apply beautifully when stamped or as a topper.

Next up is Something Volcanic. Something Volcanic is described as “a multichromatic / color shifting flakie top coat featuring flakes that shift to pink, amber, copper, gold, chartreuse, teal, blue & violet.” This was another favorite for me and was the closest to being fully opaque at 3 coats. This is another stunner when sponged or used as a topper as well!

Last up is Something Prophetic. Something Prophetic is described as ” a multichromatic / color shifting flakie top coat featuring flakes that shift to opalescent shades of blue, teal, green, gold, copper & pink.” This one is very ethereal and is meant solely to be a topper. I’ve used it here over Zoya Willa, it gave a opalescent finish that leaned teal for me with pink flashes. I love how gorgeously complex the glitters in this polish are!

All in all this is a gorgeous collection and I definitely recommend picking it up, especially if you haven’t forayed into the world of multichrome flakies! The formula is incredibly easy if not dense and didn’t require a topcoat to make them lay flat and glossy. Check out some of MDJ Creations other awesome creations here!
