Boardwalk

Hey guys! Today I am beyond excited to share the Virago Varnish Boardwalk collection with you! This is a re-release of last year’s summer collection condensed down to the 6 best selling shades. These were sent to me for review and I’ll jump right into these bright shades! I want to start by saying that almost all of these are possible 1-2 coaters with formulas that are a little bit on the thicker side. They also dry down to a semi matte finish and I’ve opted to show you how they swatch without topcoat. Some of these are available right now and there will be a restock on Saturday the 7th, these went super fast in the last restock so if you are interested don’t miss out on this limited release!

First up is Tsunami Mommy, a super bright neon pink. I did 2 coats here but it was completely opaque for me at 1, the second coat helped me level it out a bit and clean up my edges. This shade (and the others) wanted to throw my camera off so bad! This one dries fairly quickly down to a semi matte finish and self levels on the slower side.

Next up is Summer Highlighter of My Life, a true bright highlighter yellow green shade! I know I’ve used a highlighter or tennis ball to describe neon yellows before, that is exactly what this shade is! This is one of the only one of the collection that I feel really benefits from a second coat and is a true 2 coater.

Next up is I Can’t Kelp Myself, a bright neon green. This one wanted to pull a little bit cooler toned than it actually is for me. This one benefits from a second coat as well!

ParadiseBottle

Next up is Paradise Pool, described as a neon pool blue. This one strikes me as the quintessential neon turquoise shade that I desperately search for every summer. This one has a great 1-2 coat formula and I just knew this one was going to be my favorite when I first opened my package but it is in fact my second favorite!

LifegaurdBottle
Lifeguard Lagoon at 2 coats under artificial lighting.

Next up is the bright neon blue of the collection, Lifeguard Lagoon. Lifeguard Lagoon is so gorgeous in it’s natural semi matte state but looks amazing with a topcoat as well. I did have a tiny bit of unmixed pigment in mine, not terribly though. Once I added a topcoat it completely disappeared on the nail.

Lastly I have Booze Cruise, a bright neon purple shade. This one is my absolute favorite and it’s still available as of now! On the nail this is such a perfect and intense orchid shade, I can’t get enough of it!

So that rounds out my swatch and review of the updated Boardwalk collection from Virago Varnish, I am completely in love with it and feel so honored to have gotten to swatch it! I will be testing these for stamping (like, for sure  they stamp!) and watermarbling so stay tuned and thanks so much for reading along!
