Hey guys! Today I have another installment of my weekly “But Do They Watermarble?” segment, this week I am featuring the Boardwalk collection from Virago Varnish! I just recently did a complete swatch and review of the collection so if you would like to check that out it is available here. These were sent to me for review.
Because these polishes are so opaque and on the thicker side I wasn’t able (and don’t recommend) doing more than one ring of each color. The first drop will spread nicely and the rings just sort of build up from there. I was able to drag a horizontal design without much problem but there was a small lack of control for me and the polish did build up on my tool so I had to wipe it off frequently.
I watermarbled over a base of Zoya Purity with Sexy Cuticles liquid latex around my cuticle area, this is the finished result:
Next I thought I’d share a quick stamping demo. I added a drop of each polish at the top of my chosen image of the Pueen Special Edition Plate 3 Side B (SE03B) stamping plate. I scraped firmly and at a low angle twice to help blend before rolling upwards with my clear bornprettystore stamper.
I found that they stamped really well over white and black! I used Zoya’s Purity and Willa here and had no problems, they will dry quickly on your stamping plate so just move fast! They also stayed just as vivid with a topcoat. Here is the finished look:
So that rounds out this weeks segment, if you are interested in picking up these super versatile polishes don’t miss out on the last restock! It goes down May 7th at 9 am PT! Head over to Virago Varnish’s instagram here to stay up to date on the latest restocks and releases.
