Hey you guys! Today I have a swatch and review of the new pixie dust line from Zoya for Summer 2016, the Seashells collection! I am a lover of all of the pixie dusts so I was so excited when I saw that they were releasing new colors! These are available right now at zoya.com and these were sent to me for review. If you aren’t familiar with the pixie dust finish it is a very very fine glitter that dries down to a matte textured finish. Removal is very typical of a glitter polish and these often are very opaque and wear well for a good amount of time. I am completely smitten with them!
First up is Linds. Linds is described as “a cherry red, textured PixieDust with red and fuchsia glitter to mimic the look of maraschino cherries dipped in sugar!” I picked up a lot of the fuchsia glitter in this and it seemed to pull a bit pink/corally toned to my eye. Here is a quick comparisons with some pixie dust polishes I own in the same color range:
Linds went on really easy and was completely opaque for me in 1 thicker coat! If you do thinner coats you may prefer 2. This one dried down pretty glossy for me and with a gorgeous soft texture.
Next up is Zooey. Zooey is described as “a classic pink, textured PixieDust laced with a fine thread of gold and medium sized holographic hexes for an added layer of dimension.” This one has a very strong gorgeous gold shimmer, plus the small holographic hexes add a lot of interest! I love that this is a perfect balance between the original pixie formula and the magical pixie dusts. Here is a comparison with some similiar shades I own:
Zooey is a perfect two coat formula with a ton of shimmer payoff!
Next up is Levi. Levi is described as ” a beige gold, textured PixieDust with medium holographic hex glitter. This shade was designed to update a classic neutral pixie with a little more glam!” I’m thinking that they are alluding to Tomoko which is a long time favorite of mine (and a must have in my opinion!) but Levi pulls a little more warm toned. This one is another favorite of mine! Here is a comparison of some of the similiar shades that I own:
Levi went on really well and almost opaque at 1 coat but I went ahead and did 2 here.
Next up is Cece. Cece is described as ” a full impact green, textured PixieDust with a thin vein of gold creating a fizzy lemon-lime effect.” This one is a gorgeous grass green with an almost duochrome to gold shimmer shift with a beautiful texture finish. Here is a comparison picture of some of the similar shades I own, it is actually really close to Stassi in hue but the finishes are completely different:
Cece was completely opaque for me at 2 coats.
Next up is Bay. Bay is described as “a sky blue, textured PixieDust with fine silver and gold glitter creating a dreamy effect.” The gold and shimmer combined make this one intensely sparkly! Here is a comparison shot of some of the similiar colors I own:
This one was probably the sheerest of the collection for me, I did 2 coats here but I can see where it would be possible to need a 3rd.
Lastly I have Tilly, Tilly is described as ” a starry grey, textured PixieDust with a small holographic glitter interwoven with a darker gunmetal” The holographic glitter in this one is much finer than the others, this is such a unique and gorgeous polish! Here is a photo of comparisons between some similar shades that I own, I for the life of me don’t know why I didn’t include London here:
This one is so unique, it looks like a textured holographic pewter on the nail! Opaque in 1-2 coats.
So that rounds out my swatch and review of the Zoya Seashells collection for Summer 2016, I will have the Sunsets collection up ASAP! Do you have any favorites from this collection? Would you be interested in seeing a live swatch and the comparison shades?
