Hey y’all! As it creeps closer to the Halloween season I am so pumped to start getting back into some nail art! I’m starting a little bit early with this Slime French tip look featuring Pretty Like Poison, available now from Lucky 13 Lacquer. This polish was sent to me for review and will retail for $8.50.

I’m going to start today with a quick swatch and review of the base color. Pretty Like Poison is described as a “bright neon green loaded with fierce silver holo shreds.” Lucky 13 recommends using a white base for a brighter color payoff but I don’t feel like it’s really needed! This polish does have a bit of a thicker formula and was completely opaque for me in 2 coats! I am also completely in love with how it looks matte, it is definitely a bright neon lime green.

For the nail art I used black acrylic paint and a small flat brush to paint on drips, you could totally use a dotting tool if you feel like it’s easier to make nice rounded shapes that way! I definitely recommend using acrylic paints as opposed to polish for this type of art. I did 2 quick passes here to make sure the black was completely opaque. Next I used a smaller detail brush and some white polish to go in and add “shine” detail to each drip and up towards my cuticle line. I then topcoated each nail using Elemental Ward and added a matte topcoat.
