Hey guys! Today I have a swatch and review of the “Flake It ‘Til You Make It” collection releasing today fro bluebird lacquer, formerly Lou It Yourself. This is a collection of 6 super sparkly flakie and micro glitter polishes that transform completely under different lighting! They will retail for $9 a piece or $50 for the collection plus shipping and handling and they were sent to me for review. This is my first try of Lou’s polishes and I am so happy to be sharing them with you!
All of my swatches today are shown with Top Notch topcoat with a final swatch showing how they look with the new demi matte topcoat. I do love the finish that the demi matte added to these flakes, they brought out each individual one without dulling the finish too much!
First up is Shine Bright Like A Rhinestone, this is a bright silver flakie polish with silver micro glitters and a few multi chrome flakies with a stunning purple shift indirect lighting! This was one of the more sheer polishes but built up nicely in 3 coats for me, it did end up a little thick on the nail but this stunning shifty thing was worth it for me!
Next up is 24K Gold Plated which is a shimmery polish filled with rose gold flakes, silver flakes, and gold shimmer! This polish had a super easy formula that went on with full coverage in 2 coats. 24 K Gold plated is one of my top picks and I loved how warm this one looked on my skin tone!
Next up is Champagne Wishes which is more of a traditional gold filled with those silver flakes, gold micro glitters, and some warm bronze red micro flakes. This again went on very nicely in 2 easy coats, I did get some larger flakes during application but I’m not mad at them at all!
Next up is Caviar Dreams which is a bit of an enigma for me! This polish is filled with what looks to be red to green pigment indoors and under certain lighting but then flips to being a gorgeous blue to purple pigment under indirect lighting! It is also filled with those silver flakes and micro glitters. I did also swatch this one over black and I love the color payoff it gives, I did 2 coats for all of my traditional swatches today but I do feel like this could have used a 3rd.
Next up is Funny Money, a light bright green with a ton of silver flakes and microglitters. This was a little bit on the sheer side but built up perfectly opaque in 3 coats, I feel like this is such a wearable and blingy green! It did bring out some of the red tones in my skin tone under artificial lighting.
Lastly today I have Blank Account and this is my top pick of this collection! This is a very bright ethereal purple/blue/green shifting flakie polish with some ultra chrome flakes in there as well as some micro glitters. It is a bit on the sheer side but built up perfectly in 3 easy coats!
So that wraps up today’s swatch and review, be sure to stop by the bluebird lacquer store front and social media platforms to stay up to day on all future sales and releases:
