Hey guys! Today I have a swatch and review of the limited edition Mother’s Day Duo available now from Colores de Carol as well as the new Wizard Lizard topper! These polishes were sent to more for review and I’ll jump right into the swatches and share a quick nail art look with you at the end!
First up is Eternal Love which is described as a “dusty melon pink with a very subtle duo-chrome shimmer to it.” This polish has a soft classy pink base and the duochrome almost seemed like a delicate gold shimmer! It had a thicker crelly type base that covered perfectly for me in 2 easy coats.
Next up is Nancy, named for Carol’s mom! Nancy is described as a “dark eggplant purple linear holographic with micro iridescent glitter, multi-chrome flakes and holo flakes.” There is definitely a lot of elements in this polish but they all work together beautifully! Nancy has a deep jelly base that is a little on the thinner side, I did 2 thicker coats for my swatches today but I did have a little bit of flooding so I recommend taking it slow and doing 3 thinner coats.
Next up is Wizard Lizard, a gorgeous shifting opalescent topper with a larger variety of shapes and sizes in a clear base. I want to reiterate that this is a separate polish and not part of the duo but I have swatched it today at 1 coat over Eternal Love. I absolutely love how sweet this combination is, the shift is going to be more dramatic the darker the base color is.
For my nail art today I used the base of 1 coat of Wizard Lizard over 2 coats of Eternal Love and stamped over it using Nancy! Nancy did a pretty great job at stamping, the glitters are a little bit gritty when scraping but they picked up really nicely. I used the floral images from the Pueen special edition stamping plate here.
