Hey guys! Today I have a look at the August 2017 Blogger Collaboration collection releasing from Femme Fatale Cosmetics starting on August 1st. The preorder will run through August 5th and will be limited to this one run only so if you are interested I definitely recommend popping over and checking them out! This year’s collection is made of three trios with collaborators including Sam of Fashion Polish, Lexa of Glitterfingersss, and Laetitia of ilaeti! Each trio will come with it’s very own box with the bloggers name and design on the front and these polishes will retail at $13.50. I was sent this collection for review and I’m going to jump right in!
First up is the Oxymora Collection with Fashion Polish!
This is “Bare Embellishment,” best described as a “stunning neutral beige with slight grey undertones, scattered holographic particles, small platinum flakes and fine holographic microglitter.” This cool toned sandy polish was perfectly opaque for me in 3 coats and I think the silver flakes are such a beautiful touch!
This is “Shadow Radiance” which is described as a “soft grey base with strong warm tones that lean it to having a hint of brown, red glow, scattered holographic particles, iridescent microglitters and a gorgeous layer of red-green shifting iridescent flakes.” I cannot even with how beautiful the red shimmer plays on this base plus add in the flakies and this is just love at first sight! This polish was perfectly opaque for me in 3 thicker coats.
The last polish of the Oxymora collection is “Dusk Dazzle,” described as a “velvety warm purple crelly base with soft copperish glow, scattered holographic flakes and holographic particles.” This gorgeous glowy number was perfectly opaque for me in 2 easy coats and the shimmer really adds something special!
Next up is the “Things To Love Trio” by Glitterfingersss! Lexa had this to say about her inspiration for these polishes: “Aquatic is inspired by forever place & theme – the sea and ocean life. Aurora Borealis by a place I would love to experience someday – the Northern Lights. And Colour Crush a fresh take on my favourite colour combination – teal and orange/copper.”
This is “Colour Crush,” described as a “rich, deep forest green crelly base that leans to an almost-teal, with copper glow, red-copper chrome flakes, scattered holographic orange glitters and ultra-fine burnished copper shimmers.” I love everything about this polish, it so reminds me of fall in the South! Color Crush was right over the edge of being opaque for me in 2 coats but you may prefer 3.
This is “Aurora Borealis” and it is the sole thermal polish of this collection! This polish is described as a “blue (warm) to black (cold) thermal with green overlay, striking pink iridescent flakes, red iridescent glitters and scattered silver holographic glitters.” Aurora Borealis built up nicely for me in 2-3 coats and was super temperature sensitive, just trying to get a sun shot in this Texas summer completely changed it to the warm state! In the cold it turned more of a deep forest green for me with a strong green shimmer.
This is “Aquatic” and it is described as a “striking deep grey crelly base with blow luminescent glow, scattered holographic particles, rich sapphire holographic microglitters and iridescent blue flakies.” This one did start out quite sheer for me but the 3rd coat magically brings it completely opaque, the blue shimmer is like nothing I’ve ever seen!
The last trio of this collection is the Animal Lovers Trio by ilaeti. Laetitia had this to say about the inspiration behind her trio: “I chose this theme obviously because I like animals! They have always been a part of my life (cats, dogs, birds when I was a child), they kept me company in harder times, and they always had a large place in my heart (you probably already noticed on Instagram).
Today, I am a grown-up, with grown-up responsibilities and problems; most of the time I come home from work all stressed out but the second I open my door and see my cats greeting me, all the worries go away and my thoughts are focused on this instinctive relationship. This is what they bring me: a peaceful (and fun!) environment. This is why I love them and care about their well-being.
This feeling of respect and admiration I have does not only go towards (my) cats, all animals are strong, fascinating, mysterious, gracious, unapologetic… they just are.”
This is “Flamingo Feather” which is described as a “strong coral crème with a hint of strawberry pink tones, fine golden shimmer, holographic particles and fine holographic microglitter.” I cannot get over hold beautiful the gold shimmer is in this coral base! I had complete coverage in 2 easy coats but it is recommended to do 3 thinner coats.
This is “Cat’s Eye” and is best described as a “gorgeous bright blue jelly with green-gold glow, scattered holographic glitters and holographic accents.” This polish is so incredibly vivid on the nail and builds up nicely in 2 easy coats with great coverage!
The last polish I have to share with you today is “Bear” and it is described as a “rich warm brown linear holographic packed with warm iridescent flakes, golden holographic microglitter.” This polish throws so many rainbows it is almost unbelievable but it also has a ton of those gorgeous warm flakies that pop out in the shade or indirect lighting. This is definitely a favorite of mine and I had perfect coverage in 2 coats.
That is it for today, be sure to follow Femme Fatale Cosmetics social media platforms to stay up to date on all future releases and collections and stop by the incredibly talented collaborators from today’s!
